TASK | Corporate Visual Identity for Restaurant Ofelia
AGENCY | IDna Group/Rumfang
Café & Restaurant Ofelia is situated in the Royal Danish Theatre by the harbor in Copenhagen. The Restaurant is named after Hamlet’s beloved in Shakespear’s play, which is also the key inspiration for the visual identity that embraces both the name of the restaurant, the architecture of the theatre and the location right at the water.
Ofelia’s frightful death drowning herself in a lake has been a source of inspiration for a dramatic, mysterious, and theatrical expression. Also, the copper of the building plays an important role. When immersed in water – like Ofelia did with herself – copper will turn green. The design element is an imaginative tale of Ofelia’s destiny but also a picture of the location next to the waterfront and the reflection in the glass construction of the building. The textual appearance of the design and the materials goes hand in hand with the contemporary food concept and is meant to invite people to relax and make themselves comfortable in the restaurant.
